Book Review: The Mysterious Benedict Society

This is actually the first book in a trilogy, and all three are awesome.  If you're looking for something to read to your child at bedtime, a chapter of this a night is fabulous.  It's perfect for school-age kids.  What's also great is the vocabulary is huge, which will help your children learn new words.

The story is about Reynie, a very smart orphan who is picked to be part of The Mysterious Benedict Society.  Along with his friends Kate, Sticky and Constance, he tries to stop the evil Mr. Curtain.  The book is full of suspense, humor and puzzles.  And, even though it's scary, no good guys die.
